The free meal at Chiplote isn't really good for me as I am a diabetic. Too much rice.
Rice can be consumed in moderation by individuals with diabetes, but it is important to choose the right type and consume it in appropriate portions.
Types of Rice:
White rice: A
refined grain that is high in carbohydrates and has a high glycemic
index (GI), which means it can rapidly raise blood sugar levels.
Brown rice: A whole grain that is rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It has a lower GI than white rice and can help regulate blood sugar levels
Wild rice: A whole grain with a slightly lower GI than brown rice
- Recommendations:
- Limit white rice intake:Due to its high GI, white rice should be consumed in moderation or avoided altogether.Choose brown rice or wild rice:These whole grains have a lower GI and can help stabilize blood sugar levels.
