Are their any jobs left that want an honest day's work for an honest day's pay?

An honest day ends at 8 hours or 8 1/2 hours for lunch.

I seriously want to come in earlier and leave when my 8 hours are up.

I am willing to put in 2 extra hours a day during holiday weeks. Thanksgiving week, Christmas week(even though I hate your fucking religions), Easter week, 4th of July week. Especially since I prefer to pick in the meat area.

I don't stand around and talk. I just get the orders and do my job.

For some reason though the delays are not coming through. The percentage it shows when I scan the next pick is pretty much the percentage that it shows when I check my performance.

The trainers even tell you to always use your delays.

There is no bigger delay than an aisle full of other selectors. Even one other selector can make picking a pain in the ass if they are side by side with you. The fucking aisles are not wide enough.

Equipment problems can be a long delay and when their shit computer system isn't printing orders it is a problem.

Seriously, I do not know when they put in the system they use, but it looks like something from the 90s.

The methodology there is Fred Flintstone-ish.

I picked around 170 cases an hour today. If they used headsets and had a setup like Aldi's warehouse I bet I could almost double that. (Not bragging, I get passed like I was standing still by some of them).

I really do not like the way things are here in Michigan. Too may people want to work their lives away.

I got out of the gig work because it was too many hours and too many miles on my car. I missed out on a lot of time with my mother at the end of her life. I am not missing out on the rest of my cat's lives.

Screw you all.

By the way, I took a pay cut to work where I work now. I made $1100 a week doing the gig work. I even made $1500 one week and was averaging $1200 for awhile until too many people started doing it. I had to put in 50 - 60 hours to do it. I was putting over 1000 miles a week on my car.

With this job and the gig work, I made close to 60K last year. Not worth missing out on the time with my mom.

I can do just fine with 40 hours a week at this job.
